don't understand the negativity - great move for degale & hennessy. 1 thing that hasn't been mentioned - degale is 1 of the few names in boxing that the 'casuals' recognise, plus he's a good quality fighter and a 'character' with a story .ticks all the boxes for channel 5 and will no doubt bring in good viewing figures for them.
1 further thing is that he's a cut above what they've got already in terms of the standard he's boxing at so they get some bigger fights ,backed up by some decent up and coming talent who are now recognised by the casual viewer

What this fella said.

People putting to much on him being likeable - yeah that worked for Frank Bruno, but Eubank, Naseem etc all made millions by people wanting to see them decked.
