A prime Le would've given everyone at 185 a tough time, perhaps trash Leben and everyone below, then outpoint guys like Bisping.
But I really doubt he'd be able to beat Anderson. He might make it competative. His variety of attacks especially kicks will give Silva some tricky moments. But I see him losing on points. |

Le has always been a entertaining fighter to watch. His fights are never boring. But i dont think i would give him any chance of beating Anderson Silva. I do believe a younger Le would have been good enough for a title shot.

If Cung had any power He would have been a handful (since He does have a great base)in his prime but He doesnt.
Id still give Silva the edge because Silvas still in his prime now and everytime you see him Hes become more awesome in his striking and his TD defense has actually gotten better. |

Le's getting old. His cardio is definitely not what it once was. I'm curious to see where he goes after the Franklin fight. If Cung wins - the UFC may very well match him up with one of the young guns. He could beat Boestch with better kickboxing - but it would be interesting to see if someone like Weidman could take him down.

A few years ago I used to post that I thought Cung Le vs Anderson Silva would be a great matchup......I was skewered and ridiculed for such a notion THEN. Since Le lost to Scott Smith and Wanderlei Silva, turned 40 and has been exposed his lack of cardio training.
There was a time when Cung was probably the second best 185 lber in MMA but just like Mayweather vs Pacquiao we will never know.....Cung is past his prime. Franklin vs Le is still an interesting fight however. |

i think le still has a bit to offer. my feeling is that he was a bit underdone for his first crack at the ufc. hes been making movies and sitting on the lounge for a few years and all of a sudden hes thrown in with an refreshed and active wandy. even cote was a bit of an ask imo but he got the job done.
if he can get the training in he might yet make some noise. |

I wonder why Strikeforce never made Le vs. Diaz while they were both on top. Both were stars, in the same weight class, and have dynamic standup. Would've been a mega fight regardless of who won.
