khan beats JMM in my opinion - I don't really want JMM to take the fight, style makes fights, JMM >>>>>>>>>> Khan, but JMM is older and smaller and doesn't have the power to stop Khan with a punch, needs to beat him up - don't think JMM can do that, if Khan uses his Jab properly he would beat JMM. Am a Fan of JMM but don't think he can pull this off, far smaller. Khan wont be winning any fantasy matches any time soon, he's lossed twice in a row.

Good question. Given how Khan falls in on the inside when over-eager and steps into his straight punches, I see JMM beating Khan by a deserved decision. But given the question, I think JMM is more likely to catch Khan with a shot he doesn't see coming and finishing him than he is to lose a boxing match. Assuming JMM hasn't aged of course. An older Marquez and a sharper, more developed Khan could reverse the likelihood of that outcome.

Nacho/Juan didn't fancy it at that time.

Money could not have been the issue, Khan was a title holder, and the fight would be good for Marquez's legacy.
JMM wanted the fight, he didn't hide from Khan, Nacho didn't want the fight

At the time when JMM turned down Khan, Marquez was the man at lightweight. He had just moved up in weight to fight Mayweather. JMM said that he was not comfortable at the weight and stayed at light weight. If Khan wanted to fight Marquez, he should have earned a mandatory shot at LW rather than move up to LWW for a title shot which he didn't earn. Credit to Khan for beating Kotelnik but he should have chased JMM at LW.

He did, he was supposed to fight him, but they took a tune up type fight to prepare for JMM, unfortunately for Khan he met Prescott

JMM's the best counterpuncher in the businesss (outside of Mayweather). He'd have more than a chance. Khan is predictable, comes in and out in straight lines, doesn't vary his attacks, fights at one pace, etc. He'll get away with that stuff -- due to his workrate and speed -- against good/decent counterpunchers. But elite ones like Mayweather and JMM? Nah. He'd begin being countered from the opening bell. And if JMM can find him that easily, he won't need to hit as hard as Garcia to get the stoppage. Never underestimate the danger of pin-point accuracy and timing.
This really says it all. Khan's technical ability is almost completely biased towards his speed, with no real lateral movement or inventiveness in putting his punches together. The same speed that fazes lower level fighters would have little to no effect on JMM, who would counter and pick him off at will. JMM by late stoppage, imo.
