Default Is Floyd Mayweather Jr. afraid of Manny Pacquiao?

And if he is afraid, why is Floyd Mayweather Jr. afraid of Manny Pacquiao?

Would Floyd retire from boxing to avoid fighting Manny?

Well he must be, otherwise he would not be asking for tests all of a sudden and avoid him for so long. He would have just lined him up and ebat him. Yet he didnt have urge and came out with a lot of bull****.
I Think he isnt scared of pacquiao as a person he is just scared of losing and he believes pac is very much capable to hand him that defeat. Floyd mayweather is safety first choices, I guess when pacs shows decline floyd will know he is off the powerpallets and man up

I don't think so. But I have to admit all these troubles plaguing Floyd right now makes me think he's definitely bothered about something. Maybe he miscalculated what the general perception of his actions would be. Maybe he asked for the OSDT just to play mind games with Pac and he didn't think it would blow up to what it is now and he can't maneuver his way back into a better position w/o looking like the loser in the negotiations... I dunno, but I doubt he's scared.

No, people are getting carried away. He's doing a good job of making the fight even more bigger than it is. Get a grip everyone.

That's a very good theory, man.

I did start thinking that the whole drug testing was to just get into Pacquiao's head, and win the negotiations in the build up to the fight...give himself a mental edge of some sort.

But yeah, good stuff.

I think Floyd is not sure if he can beat Manny because of how far Manny has gotten and improved. I dont think Floyd is scared of Manny but like someone mentioned earlier on this thread Floyd doesnt want to lose his 0, he doesnt want to lose ever, the thought of losing is probably what scares the hell out of Floyd.

No, floyd can't possibly be afraid of an unskilled midget.

100% scared like a ***** because he knows Pac will knock him out worse than Cotto, Margarito and Oscar got.

Thanks! I also think Floyd simply doesn't want to be in a position where it looks like he's chasing a fighter or giving in to the demands of another fighter (at least not since the Oscar fight), and since Pac has now basically said "I'll take the tests, the ball is in your court now", whatever Floyd does, it'll look like he's going after Pac because Pac isn't exactly gunning for Floyd but has effectively (at least they claim) removed the perceived roadblocks to the fight. So Floyd now has to say "I want to fight you" but maybe he doesn't want to be in that position.

Floyd probably never had to worry about this before since fighters are always calling him out and not the other way around (again since the Oscar fight at least), but since Pac has never actually called Floyd out, it sort of threw a wrench into how Floyd wants to operate. It's all speculation of course and it's strange **** but the more I think about it the more sense it makes. It really seems like Floyd has the kind of ego that would lead to something like this.
