What's happening? These two guys were supposed to be the future of the division but Groves is hardly getting his career going and DeGale's career is basically stagnating at this point?!
Any news? Wasn't Groves supposed to fight Stieglitz who now lost his title to Abraham? What's DeGale up to? Didn't he have problems with his promoter? |

Yeah, DeGale has now left Frank because he couldn't get any regular fights. Sadly, Groves has signed with Frank, which means his career will progress at a snails pace just like DeGale's did. I would love to see both of these being far more active than they are. I think their careers need activity too, but, for whatever reason, it just hasn't happened. Two fights a year isn't good enough for a decent prospect.

tbf id say groves has gone more slowly, hes picked up some good wins but DeGale has gone and defended his European title away from home against decent opposition, hes doing the right things in my mind, but George Groves does look very good, i still have a question over his durability mind, he's shown nothing to suggest hes got a particularly dodgy chin, i cant put my finger on it

Yeah it's been strange really, remember Groves talking about being a PPV star after the fight but since then has gone into obscurity of Boxnation although had some nice exposure on U.S tv last time out.
DeGale has made a nice move to Mick, out again on Saturday and hopefully performs well and can push on. But both have sort of dropped out of the casuals eye somewhat so both could do with getting some good fights and some activity!. DeGale fighting abroad was bizarre but was good for him to get away and face a former world champion. TBF to Groves he did have a world title fight, but that fell through. Could of been a far different 2012 for him really.. |

Think they are both neck and neck at the moment in their careers. Should be further along, interesting they were desperate to get Groves in with Stieglitz and now he's not the champion, team Groves and ***** don't show too much interest in Abraham!

The thing is being with ***** makes it more likely that Groves will get a world title shot before Degale, say what you will about ***** he can make fights from nowhere when he sets his mind to it.Degale will have the better exosure ,but it might still take Henessey some time to make the big fights for him.
