Floyd Mayweather Jr. He usually at the least matches his oponents strength in the clinches and doesn't get shoved around by guys who are naturally bigger than he is.
Carmen Basilio. Even though it's well known he was a strong, aggressive fighter he's hardly ever mentioned amongst the others when talking of fighters who were very strong for their weight class. |

Ali always makes his way into threads about fighters with underrated qualities. Since that's the case, I wonder if he's really underrated.

Kostya Tszyu was probably not underrated for strength but people (especially early in his career) made a much bigger deal about his punching power.
Don't get me wrong Kostya hit hard but his physical strength often allowed him to dominate and boss speedier and slicker boxers all over the ring ie Tszyu-Sharmba Mitchell 1. Great call on Mayweather by the way. The only fight where he was clearly outstrengthed imo was against Jose Luis Castillo who was an enormously strong Lightweight and at that time Floyd hadn't properly grown into the division. |

Ali has had due recognition for many years, even before he finally retired, for being one of the strongest guys who ever entered the ring,so he has to be counted out in this one. Last edited by Stevie G; 07-16-2012 at 07:59 AM. |
