Sorry I haven't been on for a while. Been busy lately, But excellent fight all set for October 27th in Mexico on TV Azteca. I was very sad when Marquez-Vazquez Jr was cancelled this weekend but I can forgive them with a near even valued fight like this. Mijares was once well hyped when he beat Arce but since lost to Vic Darchinyan and fell off the map but to his credit he has done well moving up in weight and winning a belt verses contenders.
R. Marquez is the younger - but still older brother of JMM. After a recent close loss to S. Bantumweight titleholder Toshiaki Nishioka he is getting back on track for a so far solid final run. Here is my article: ***********.blboxing.com/2012/10/breaking-marquez-mijares-set-for.html ![]() Who wins? Poll coming! Poll coming. |

That is a bit harsh I think Both are game fighters still and at this point it is a solid fight. Winner sticks in contendership. Looser retirement should be considered.

I respect them both but Marquez has left his soul in the ring after so many battles and lesions.Mijares kind of the same.Fighting each other will prevent them of a chance of a showdown with a decent payday against the big stars like Nonito, mares,Moreno,Rigo.

Interesting votes. Can't see R Marquez KOing him. Guy isn't at his best and Mijares is solid. Got Marquez UD myself.

Two past prime warriors who will put whatever they have left on the line. I really wish Raphael would retire, but think he has enough in the tank to take this one either by late TKO or a close decision.

I think Rafael's power and natural size advantage will prove too much for Mijares to cope with. Mijares will get hit by Rafael's precision punches and I just don't have much confidence in his ability to take it for too long.

I'll belive this when I see Rafa in the ring.
(Dude's body is breaking down) ^That said... Should be a good scrap. Both are just past it enough to provide a WAR |

how much each of them are getting for this fight? I'm wondering why does Rafael still fighting? His brother is earning millions of $ now, is he not helping his brother financially?
