Default Why does Marquez whines a lot?

Marquez has been very vocal after each of the three fights as he argued that he deserved to get the decisions and should’ve been given the victory. Last June, Pacquiao lost a very controversial fight to Bradley in a bout where almost everyone had Pacquiao winning pretty convincingly. While the shoe was finally on the other foot, Pacquiao points out he never made a big deal of it like what Marquez did.

Pacquiao was in a dominant position, and hardly lost anything by the lousy decision. Marquez had the opportunity to gain that recognition, earned it to most who watched it, and was denied it, not once, but at least twice, and possibly 3 times, after being ignored for years by promoters and name fighters as a high-risk/low-reward option and chasing Pacquiao up in weight despite his aging.

Gtfo bogo I'm no pactard but it's like your implying Pacquio did nothing to get where he is. It's Marquez fault by being in boring controversial decisions and his management asking for too much money why be began slow. And I like Marquez more

I've read these forums for years, very rarely post. Really enjoying reading your expertise on the sport and well written, thorough remarks.

Don't you think he has himself to blame just a little bit? I mean he practically begs for these fights, yet he lays back every time they fight. There's no argument that he gave away the last few rounds in the last fight. When there were opportunities to step it up and seal the rounds, he never did. I understand that's his style, and he's successful at it, but in a close fight he has to take some responsibility. He was much more aggressive against Mayweather - even though he lost every round. If he showed that same kind of determination against Pacquiao, the judges may not have a choice but to give him the fight.

What a shit post. Jmm vs Pac have fought for 36 rounds and for the great majority of them JMM has been the clear winner. And he didn't do it by laying back.

And NO he did not give away the last two rounds of the third fight. Pac had really done nothing for most of the fight and his corner told him he needed the KO so he looked relatively more aggressive in those rounds.

Are you also saying Pac didn't show enough determination vs Timmeh since the judges gave Little T the fight.

That's your opinion. Most people believe these are close fights and that's why so many are split on who won.

Yes JMM does lay back, he's consistently backed off every single time they've fought. All he does is lay back and look for counters. He's pretty successful at it, but a lot of the rounds end up close, and in those close rounds you rarely see him go on the attack to seal the round - meanwhile Pacquiao is being aggressive and fighting hard to win the round. It's a championship fight, you have to step it up from time to time especially in a close round otherwise you leave it questionable who won. Even if you think you've won the round, you should put extra emphasis on it by stepping up and making sure the judges know who won. JMM should know you cant trust judges so why does he seem to do the minimal to win when he's fighting Pacquiao.

Actually he did, he gave away the 12th round for sure. He did nothing in that round and Pac outworked him and landed the last meaningful punch in the fight.

That's apples and oranges. Pac - Bradley was mostly one-sided. Pac- JMM have always been close fights.

jmm's fan like this one can't accept that all their fights are close, decisions reflect that and the fights could have gone either way.

...they whine and whine and whine.
