If he had it he didnt show it, IMO one of the most boring fighters i have ever seen, hated his fighting style.

He was fun to watch when he was young and just starting out.

He was unimpresive to watch, but his accomplishments were admirable. I'd say he did enough with what potential he had.

Man, are you kidding? Eddie had all the potential in the world, just take in this great performance...one of my favorite showings of any fighter, ever.

He was the James Toney of his era, only he went through all the stages quicker and didn't have a 7 year gap of being totally out of shape fighting irrelevant journeymen.Nor a late semi comeback.

He could have beaten Galindez with relative ease had he given a damn. Real close fight as it was, but the guy simply would NOT work.

Tons of talent, but talent doesn't mean shit. You have to do something with it to make yourself special, and he refused to do that.

Eddie Gregory was one of the more talented fighters of his era, but he was incredibly lazy and uninspired 99% of the time. Which makes it ironic that his is a trainer today.

And look who he trained: Chad Dawson, another man who doesn't like throwing punches and takes rounds off.

Now you're underrating Victor Galindez. it's debatable if Eddie could have beaten Galindez, ...perhaps so, but NOBODY beats Victor "easily".

Except maybe Rossman.

But yeah, I see your point. That fight was right there for Gregory though......he almost won anyway, and would have had he just punched a bit more. There were many rounds he did almost literally nothing.

Galindez gets constantly overrated IMO. Undoubtedly brilliant but not that level of light heavy IMHO.

He's interesting to me because he can't really be categorized. He was so very negative in his style which is maddening, but also ugely strong and aggressive at the same time. For those who have to put things in neat, tidy boxes he must be the devil incarnate. There's no way to put a label on him.
