Default Hopkins vs Moorer 175

I am not familiar with Moorer's light heavy reign, Ive read he
was a beast. Hopkins is a master and has had success with
top notch southpaws although many were at 160. Who takes it
and how?

I would pick Hopkins to win a decision.Winning mainly due to ring smarts and mobility. The Hopkins that beat Tarver would have stolen rounds, slowed the pace when he wanted to, and kept Moorer turning and having to constantly reset all night long. I don't think Moorer can hit him twice in a row...also Moorer could at times be lulled to sleep, and add that Hopkins absolutely excelled fighting southpaws.

Moorer wins inside 8 , and i m (being) careful with this prediction here . Moorer was bigger , stronger and better than Tarver .

Also , Hopkins won against Tarver because Tarver was much more drained against him , than Jones ever was against either Tarver or Glen Johnson .

Moorer gave Holyfield some problems , true that he might have been drained @ 175 , but still 2 good and hard hitting 4 Hopkins .

I think that 1 punch would have been enough 4 Moorer 2 end matters with Hopkins .

Moorer, whilst not having even decent oppo' at 175, was a better fighter than both Dawson and Tarver IMO.

I'll give B-Hop the benefit of the doubt and say he can spoil himself to relative safety but I can't see how he wins a decision.

Hopkins by decision in a very boring fight. If it were not boring Moorer would win.

I love Hopkins (Its a Philly thing), and would love to pick him in this fight. I have never been sold on Hop's at 175, and think he can flourish there only by carefully selecting opponents where he holds sometype of stylistic advantage and/or the opponent is limited in skill level that he can expose.

I think Moorer gets a little overrated (ala Jamaes Toney at 160/168/) as a LHW, but be that as it may...I still think he would beat Hopkins by a comfortable (not dominating though) decision and that if not careful Hop's would be in danger of not seeing the end...

I envision a Hop's fighting a little bit over cautiously (although in this case probable necesary), similar to his unwillingness to engage against RJJ (not comparing styles by any means, just that Hopkins respect of his opponent will cause him to be passive)....Moorer by an 8-4/9-3 type of decision.

Well, the LHW version of Hopkins was an aging man, into his forties. I would pick him to win a decision.

Hopkins had nothing 2 keep Moorer off him with .

Moorer was clearly physically a beast at light heavy but he get's over rated as his opposition was hardly anything special during his time at light heavyweight. He was also a novice in terms of boxing experience and we've seen Hopkins school young fighters time and time again.

Moorer struggled with Leslie Stewart who was ahead on all 3 judges score cards when he got the KO. So I could see Hopkins using his greater experience, movement and skill to diffuse Moorer.

But Hopkins would need a higher work rate to really keep Moorer off him which he simply didn't have at this late stage in his career. Yet Moorer at that point hadn't fought anyone as savvy or skilled as Hopkins. I can't really pick a winner.

Hopkins pretty easily, by mid round stoppage. If Leslie Stewart gave Moorer kittens, and the likes of 'Danny Stonewalker' are frustrating him, he is not going to compete with Hopkins.

Moorer was in a constant battle with his weight, and thus it was made sure the opposition he fought at 175 were the least of his concerns.

Moore and you don't really have too think about it...

IF all these fights were poosible for BHop, then he would have stayed at L-HW where he started, but no, he dropped down not just 1 division but 2.

Hopkins is the most overated fighter of the last 20 years!

Moore would beat him up!
