Some of the scoring on ESB is seriously amateur, dont tell me everyone had Malignaggi winning in the RBR thread as well
![]() Even Brooklyn was booing Paulies victory, tells you all you need to know. You dont win a fight on a jab alone when your opponent is consistently outlanding you and tagging you with power shots |

I didnt score it, ive actually kind of stopped scoring fights live, but I felt it was close at the mid point seeing as the unofficials had it different
then to me it seemed Paulie took the mid rounds 6 or 7-10 Cano had a 10-8 11 and a 10-9 12, at the conclusion i was like well i didnt keep a score of my own so i cant tell if this was enough for Cano to pull it out, but i felt he was behind and needed a big finish...he got the big finish not sure if it was enough but i was kinda hoping his hand would be raised |

I like Paulie, but I had Cano winning seven of the twelve rounds. Cano is the kind of tough, but relatively limited fighter that Paulie used to be able to box circles around. Let's not forget, Paulie had moments against a prime Cotto.
I believe a rematch is in order. |

I thought Cano won the fight. It was a good fight, probably the best of the night, solid and consistent action through out. There were some close rounds, but even with those, and then factoring in Cano had Paulie hurt all night to the body and leveled him in the 11th, Cano clearly won the fight to me. I can see it being close, but still a clear Cano win. 114-113 in Cano's favor would have been as close as I can see, and that would be giving Paulie the nod in all the close rounds. I didn't feel any of the judges had it right.
Cano however looks like he gets really fat in between fights and has paper skin. I'm not sure what that will mean for him going forward, but he is a solid young fighter I'd like to see more of, I think he deserves another shot on Showtime at some point. |
