Default What keeps you motivated?

besides the working out, being in great shape and a trainer that is on your ass what keeps you going? whats that thing inside you that keeps you shadow boxing when no one is watching or practicing combinations in your head, sometimes against people who dont even know youre practicing on them.

what keeps you going inside that head? a fighters head, whether boxer or in mma is one of the weirdest places to be.

lemme know

what keeps me motivated :

i had a very harsh times with bullies at school and out ..
this just pumps me up to train hard

cause after taking boxing and judo and seeing myself becoming stronger .. i managed to take care of the bullies hard and without breaking a sweat

and just thinking about that makes me want to train hard and motivates me to keep training

I thought about this for a minute, I guess it all comes down to the chip on my shoulder.

when i notice myself getting better! ive only been boxing for a month and a half at an actual gym, the first little while i was getting my ass kicked in sparring by alot of guys. now im beating those same guys easily, its a huge confidence boost, just to know all your work is paying off. but i just love boxing, even when i was at home training by myself for a long time i was always boxing or thinking of boxing, just love hitting shit. i got my first amateur fight on november 15th, thats also big motivation too

Good question. I really have no good reason at all to box. As a matter of fact, as a father in my 30s with a daughter and a white collar job, there's probably more reasons to STOP training/competing.
I guess there's no good reason for me except that it's fun. And I'm getting better, and i'd kick myself if I didn't try to see how far I could take this.
When i'm 80, I'll never say "gee I wish I spent more time on facebook, or at the pub". But I probably would say "gee I wonder how good a boxer I could have been".
So I guess that's it for me. Cuz it's fun, and so i'll never have to wonder.

I don't box anymore (was never a big thing to me) but I train in general to be the best I can be.

I don't know to be honest. I don't have any illusion: I'm not likely to get rich or famous boxing yet I've been doing on and off for a while now. Even when I get really tired or I've been having a shitty day at the gym, I just take a break and then I eventually come back to it.

I care about being in shape and good looking of course, but I could just jog or lift for mass.

I think at the end of the day, it just makes me feel happy.
