I haven't seen much of this Trout guy but he does appear to be quite slick with movement possibly better than Cotto's...although that could all be negated with Cotto's game changing left rips to the body. Plus Cotto has some experience against movers like foreman and malignaggi (as well as just more experience against top level fighters in general) but has trout really fought anyone like Cotto who will test all aspects of his fight game (especially endurance/chin)? I'm going to be betting on this one but before I do I'd love to hear what your guys breakdown of the fight. At the moment I'm putting money on Cotto for a late TKO but that can be changed!

Cotto by KO/TKO <10Rds.
Miguel ring IQ, experience, boxing abilily, smart presure, foot work and constant body attack will overwelm Trout. Cotto will test his chin via left hooks....his jab will wreck him. |

Cotto close but clear UD
What Da Boxer said is true. Trouts chin gets tested. That said, I give Trout a decent chance, probably slightly more than most, actually. |

Cotto is only a 2.5 to 1 favourite...
In Vegas lingo, 2-1 means shit. It's almost an even fight. I still think Cotto mauls this dude. He did not impress me in his last outing. |

This will be Cotto's first legit top 10 JMW. Don't sleep on Trout just based on the DR fight alone. People are treating Trout like he's Yuri Foreman, when this is going to be a tougher fight for Miguel than the Clottey bout.
Trout's the bigger man, atleast even speed, and knows how to box. He's used to adverse environments having fought championship fights in Mexico. Cotto's power at JMW is overrated. He hasn't stopped anybody since a one legged Foreman (Mayorga just quit). I see this as mistake in choice by the Cotto people based on looking at Trout's low KO% and the DR fight. Unlike the DR fight, Austin is highly motivated for this and not taking Cotto lightly, he's hungry to shine against a HOF. I think Austin wins convincingly in a competitive fight. |

I think Trout will finish Cotto. I've been quoted saying Cotto took the short cut through the division, so I might as well put my money where my mouth is and pick Trout.

Cotto can time him with jabs and counters on the outside circling, or press the action and **** him up on the inside, using his stature to his advantage. Cotto on points, I think he may be using this fight to sharpen himself and not necessarily go all out, and given his size and experience, Trout is likely durable. Cotto points, but a KO is certainly not out of the question.
