Ah, good old Carson. Got to give it to Eddie, he is playing this promoting game might well. Talking guys into fightings and recycling opponents. ***** loves to do that, albeit with shitter fighters. If Carson beats Purdy, Brook looks better and if Purdy beats Carson then hes got 2 guys he can talk into bigger fights. The reality is Carson is good but not a litmus test at 147 and Purdy is leaving the domestic level behind based on his promoter talking.

I think Carson is certainly a 'litmus test' achilles. He's that if nothing else. Nobody else has managed to walk through Brook, despite getting hurt he still stuck to his task all night and although lacking a degree of skill and finesse he showed hunger and strength not many have. Brook's pretty untested but its common sense he's a fast, accurate puncher with some pop so anybody that can keep coming all night and offset a skill differential is showing me something.
I think he's a pretty good potential gatekeeper for this division. |

Same here, I don't think Purdy is going to handle the pace that Carson sets, and he will buckle under the volume and pressure mid to late rounds.
I'm thinking 5th round stoppage. Carson Jones TKO5. ![]() I'd like to see Carson get a fight with Ricky Hatton, Amir Khan or even a rematch with Kell Brook. I believe he will learn from that defeat and comeback a better fighter. |

It's hard not to like Jones, really.
Have to admit, the Brook fight was the first time i'd seen him properly, and i was really impressed by how tough he is. A British fighter with that many losses on his record would (wrongly, stupidly) be considered finished, but he roughed Brook up and would've probably won had he had another round or two. For me, Purdy v Jones is a bit of a mismatch. Jones will stop him relatively easily, though admittedly i'm only going off the little i've seen of Jones. However, i have seen quite a bit of Purdy and think he might be a little out of his class with this one. I can also see Alexander beating Brook, or at least that being a lively fight that could tip either way. Obviously, i hope i'm wrong on both counts. |

A fighter like Jones would be considered a turd over here.
Either that or he'd only have a loss or two and be on the express tracks. |
