I'm surprised in a fight like this, that the referee stopped the fight without Marquez even going down. But the announcers clearly agree with the stoppage. Looked like Mijares did indeed land some solid flush punches in that final flurry.

I have to say, the report I had read of this fight, before this stream began, indicated Mijares was on top the whole fight, with Marquez only occasionally on the offense. But this fight was a WAR for 9 rounds, and if the result allegedly indicates Marquez needs to retire, then Mijares cannot be far behind, as much punishment as he took. But I think a signature win like this should give Mijares at least 1 more significant fight, especially as loaded as the 122 division is. Awesome fight!!! Again my thanks to IB and WBC for the stream!!! HBO and Showtime, feck you for passing on it!!!
