Generally speaking if two people are of equal speed and equal square on distance from each other.
I know the straight right cross is faster than the left hook. But what about the long range "educated swing" left hook? It dosnt travel such a curved path and has longer range than a regular left hook. |

a left hook over the top is a counter to the right hand. when ur right hand is extended make sure your shoulder is covering your chin and bring the right hand back fast as you can to minimize the risk of being countered by th left hook. When ur elbow is in the "v" position is when u are open for the counter

no matter what kind of hook, you leave yourself open for a straight right. And to get power in a hook, you got to rotate. Its not just curved line vs straight line.
