a focused, trained and serious joey g i'd imagine to take bhop by razor thin decision over 15. superior movement is the deciding factor

joey definitely beats the young one, the old one a tougher fight. interesting fight but very boring, i imagine not too dissimilar from a hopkins/taylor pace. either guy could win it, if they fought ten times you'd see no pattern of clear dominance by either man. very enjoyable good fights for patient men to watch.

Giardello, as Hopkins would find, wasn't one of those clueless, one-dimensional types he was used to out thinking and feasting on. it would be very close however, and Joey would have to be on his best game.

This is kinda funny...but Hopkins actually does alot of the things that Giardello did stylistically. Watch the front foot angles Giardello would use later in his career after he became more experienced. The Hopkins that beat Trinidad edges any version of Giardello...both are smart and cagey. I like Hopkins because his defense is better, footwork is more fluid, and his conditioning and consistency are major factors.

Another funny thing...if both had met early in their careers, this fight would have been a foul filled brawl at times.

I really can't commit to a definite prediction. I want to favor Hopkins, especially because I think he's the more earnest, forceful fighter here, but there is a question mark, because Hopkins never faced a fighter so similar to himself as Joey G was.

Hopkins. He's probably even the better athlete, and would win this chess match through superior accuracy and ability to dictate the tempo, IMO

Hopkins could go 15 rounds easy.
