Default Worst world tile reigns by British fighters?

Nathan Cleverlys title reign has to rank as one of the worst. Is it the worst? Who shares a similar reign as him?

His "people" are managing to find him a steady string of complete no names that even hardcore boxing fans don't have a clue about.

Thoughts?

Easy. Alex Arthur was promoted to full champion after scraping past Stephen Foster Jnr then lost it in his only defence vs nicky cook. No world title fight victories and two domestic openers.

Arthur never really had the title IMO, he didn't win a world championship fight, but you're right that would be the worst if I counted it. Funnily enough, that meant Nicky Cook became one of the worst after beating Arthur for the title and losing it to Martinez in his first defence (was doing okay in that fight though, up until the KO).

In terms of the length and quality of his reign, off the top of my head it has to be the worst I can really think of.

Glenn McCrory? Beats a journeyman to win a vacant title, beats a journeyman to defend the title then loses his next defence.

Enzo never beat one world class fighter his whole career yet was a world champ but Cleverly has to be the worst..

Henry Akinwande's wbo reign was fairly undistinguished two defences then he vacated to get dq'd against Lewis...

maybe not "world class" but Wayne Braythwaite beat a young Yoan Pablo Hernandez in his next fight, and had only been beaten by Guillermo Jones (still a champ I believe) and Mormeck (a very good Cruiser) at that point.
At least some of his opponents had mixed it up at world level.

I admit to being no expert on the noble art but dare I suggest Herbie Hides WBO heavyweight reign?

Burns title defenses at SFW were abysmal, to be fair he won it in good style against a contender.

I suppose it's not fair to put Glenn Catley in here, as he didn't really have a reign as such, i think he lost in his first defense, also done well to win the title in Germany, which as we know isn't an easy task.

You get similarly bad champs from other countries under the IBF, WBA etc.

I don't think Herbie Hide could have done much better than he did in all reality.
In both of his title reins he lost to his mandatory's which were Riddick Bowe (1 loss at that time) and Vitali Klitschko (undefeated).
I give him credit for taking dangerous fights, instead of relinquishing as many do today, even with the lonsdale belt!!!!!!!!
