I didn't! With his big mouth, uninspiring opposition (at world level anyway) and seemingly poor attributes I did not fancy him to do much at the top end.
Well, he did, and has become one of my favourite fighters. |

I had him down as the stereotypical British fighter.
Looks brilliant smacking around domestic and European fighters, ultimately falling short at world level. I suppose ultimately he did fall short at the very top level, but he's got a damn good list of contenders in his W column, plus stoppage wins over all his leading domestic contemporaries. |

I like Froch's attitude from an early stage, I thought he fully believed all that he said and was for real, attitude wise at least.
He still looked a clunky fighter at times though, even (especially at times) against much inferior fighters. He's not very quick, not slick, decent power but not vicious. Didn't seem like a package that would give him success at workld level. Turns out the old 'intangibles' were off the charts though. Don't see how anyone could truly have thought he'd achieve what he has... that said he had good pedigree but a couple of injuries slowed his progress. Basically he's a guy with a great attitude who has worked hard to maximise his talents. |

There are only a few men at SMW and LHW that I'd pick to beat him, including the two he's already lost to. So, yes - he''s done amazingly. I use to just think he was a deluded fool, but he's a proper warrior. |

Froch would beat Kessler in a rematch now, I think he has faded a bit since that fight. Not the same fighter any more.

I thought he looked pretty special when I first seen him on itv but was very slow compared to calzaghe, I thought he would get beat by denis inkin.
