Hard to imagine that guy next to Barry Mcguigan was once a ferocious heavyweight.

He looks so different now and if someone didn't know who he was they wouldn't believe you

Oh god, he looks awful. I can't believe Mcguigan is showing confidence in him, he's usually so non-bullshit. Maybe he's just sticking up for his son doing the training or maybe he really does see something we don't...

He needs to make sure he is fit enough and just box using his height and range. His punching technique leaves much to be desired but so do many boxers of a much higher pedigree. He's had a few months to focus on boxing 24/7 with top trainers and I assume good sparring partners so he should be in a decent position.

The reality is that your first amateur fight is likely to be much tougher. He'll fight a guy who will come to lose, horrible record and probably be out of shape. In an amatuer fight, he'll likely be in a 50-50 fight, with a young, hungry boxer who's been taught to score points for 3x2.

Maybe the attention he will bring to the sport will attract a few new fans to the game? It's the only positive to take out of this.

I hope he comes out of it safe but at the same time I hope he gets stopped or knocked out in the first if that makes sense.

No way should he have been given a licence.

Doubt it. I reckon it'll reinforce all the negative circus views most casuals and non fans have of the game.

Maybe a decent undercard might help. Really this should of been a sideshow on the Hatton fight card.
