I thought he lost to Darch and his first win over Agbeko doesn't count, but since then he's beaten 3 highly ranked opponents, 2 of whom where borderl;ine top 10 p4p themselves so yes I think he should be p4p ranked and certainly p4p ranked higher than Vitali who seems to be a fixture on these lists.

People may still hold a grudge over Agbeko 1 (which was a Mora problem more than a Mares problem, to me) but I can't imagine him not replacing Moreno where Ring's got him or kicking Vitali out. I see no good reason not to anyway. He's paid the dues.

I like mares didn't think he would win tonight but he proved me wrong. He's a little dirty but he's the truth and isn't in there to play games. If he's not top 10 p4p then he's right outside of it.

I have him just outside and I think that's the right place to have him.
He has had a good run of fights but hasn't won impressively regularly enough to throw him in there yet. Agbeko II, Darchinyan and Moreno are his only quality wins. Draw with Perez, points win over Morel and low-blow filled contest with Agbeko first time out are not exactly stand-out. |

People sucking Abner's dick and for what? He's gutted out victories, but hasn't destroyed, dominated, or brutally KO'd an elite fighter. Mares has 3 losses in my eyes: Darchinyan, Perez, and Agbeko (DQ).

I'd like to see a Moreno rematch since it was Moreno's first fight at the weight and I had this one a draw but yeah I see no issue putting him in at #10.
What he lacks in skill and precision he makes up for with will to win, heart and intensity. Dude is fucking relentless! He's a problem for anyone with that kind of pressure. |
