Pulev is his no.1 mandatory challenger and has come of an impressive knock out victory against unbeaten Ustinov.
After 3 miserable miss-matches in a row he has to step it up a gear. Mormek , Wach are the type of guys Price and Fury should be fighting not the unified champion of the world making his 9th defence of his belts. Another no name beyond 50 ranked contender is unacceptable. |

Pulev is NOT his mandatory, not yet anyway
he has to beat the winner of Adamek-Cunningham II for the #1 spot |

Wasn't Wach ranked fairly highly in the WBC rankings?
![]() Thompson was a Ring-ranked top ten and a mandatory. Where's the "another" come from? Pulev would be great, but Povetkin better, as the more established heavyweight, I feel. Plus, I think they're being forced together to sign next, no? |

Pulev is, i agree, the most interesting contender out there right now. Still not too experienced though. I think he could use 2 or 3 more fights to get him as ready as possible.

That would be ****ing awesome. Unfortunately Povetkin is not to keen on taking risks.. If he is allowed to he would fight the ghost of some hasbeen

Hasn't Povetkin been mandatory for almost five years?
He looked pretty much shot against Huck, it would be a brutal mismatch if it were to happen. Pulev ought to be his number 1 contender. |

What I think is people's judgment might be coloured by a farcical Rahman fight and a tough fight with a tough Huck when he seemed poorly conditioned and that Povetkin likely looks great against Dimitrenko or Ustinov, who are the opponents that ushered Pulev into his currently high regard. I think they're likely similar levels of fighter, but Povetkin is the more established. More pro experience, better resume, and that joke of a title makes me want that fight more. That, and that this fight has been in the making for three or four years now already. Nobody's mentioned Pulev for Volo, really, until 2012.

get him in there with price, pulev, or abdusalamov. even a fury, povetkin, or helenius fight would be ok...anything else is just a mismatch ....

Just because they usually don't do these things the right way nowadays doesn't mean i can't hold out hope that occassionally they still might, does it? To which i add, that i have absolutely no expectation whatsoever of a Pulev-Povetkin fight actually happening before either guy getting a shot at Klitschko, it was just a thought bubble.
