Watched Mares vs. Moreno again: did anyone else thought Moreno won?

I picked Moreno to win, but honestly can't see any way to justify a win for him. I just thought he'd be able to deal with the pressure better, he HAD to know that was Mares gameplan. I thought the judges would help Mares out, and one did, but he honestly didn't need it to win this one.

I don't see how anyone can score the fight for Moreno. Mares came in, did his thing.

I watched it again last night. Had Mares by wide decision. I admire Moreno's abilities, but Mares just controlled the action way too much and didn't let Moreno get off enough to be effective. Mares fought the exact fight he needed to.

Mares was beating Moreno so bad in the mid rounds, i was surprise Moreno's corner didn't throw the towel. Moreno was a warrior to take that many punches but just bc he stopped the onslaught late in the match doesn't mean he won the early rounds or won all the late rounds. 8-4 Mares and i'm being generous to Moreno.

I picked Moreno to win and was wrong, fight panned out similiar to what i invisioned but mares was physically too strong and bossed proceedings.

This was hard for me to take as i had a 89.2% correct pick so far in 2012, but with lara vs martirosyan being a draw and mares winning i'm now only like 87.6%......53-9

Still would of won even without the deduction. He came and had a gameplan and won. It wasn`t the cleanest of fights, but that`s what happens when you have an agressive fighter against a slick one.

The fact that some people scored this fight a draw or for Moreno shows that theres some people that will score any fight for the loser. (I dont mean this as a disrespectful dig, but as an honest statement)

The fight was very competetive but it really wasnt that close in score especially when you consider Mares knocked him down (im not even counting the BS point deduction)

How someone could have this fight for Moreno, especially considering the knockdown, is mind boggling and goes back to my statement that there will be a few people in every fight no matter what, that score it for the loser.

Moreno had Mares hurt and gasping for breath in the 11th and failed to really capitalize on it.

In round 12 Morano literally ran away from Mares. He got beat up in this fight and I'm a huge fan of his.

Yes, he did and those were the rounds I gave to Moreno. The only bad thing was, there were only three rounds in which Mares let Moreno breathe. You could maybe find four if you are really searching.

Bottom line is that it was a clear UD for Mares aside from that atrocious 120-106 score or whatever it was and that bullshit point deduction.
