Just watch Ray vs Andy Price, Dave Boy Green and Daniel Gonzales...and Donnie LaLonde for starters.

Could crack plenty when he sat down on his shots.

Reznik's choice of music on this one always makes me LOL

Instrumental is cool and all, though.

Are you mad? Leonard was a murderous puncher when he wanted to be!

All he had to do was bend at the knees a bit, put his hips and shoulder into his shots - equally adept at shifting his weight with either hand - thrown straight, with phenomenal speed while maintaining perfect balance all before you could bat an eye lash. Voila! Ray Leonard's natural power can hurt.

Ray could punch hard, some of his knockouts were downright brutal

Quite right. He may not have been a power puncher in the Thomas Hearns mould, but he could crack pretty hard.

Arguably the best blend of speed and power in boxing.

Is that how boxing knowledge is judged here, by post count?

He didn't have consistently great "one-punch" power (not many do), but the mother****er could sure crack when he put his body into it. Similar to Roy, I'd say, although Roy might've even had a bit more.

Even then it should be obvious. It's all in his punching form talked about above, Leonard had the fastest hands in the business and could win fights a variety of different ways. When he was intent on causing damage, it was apparent -- and usually resulted in exactly that.

Dick Ecklund,

"Ray really didn't punch that hard. At least I didn't feel it, and he hit me alot.'
