Go to 12:28 Ward has great skills and is a fantastic fighter but his chin is questionable right now having been put on his arse by a journeyman suggests he doesn't have a great chin. Because no-one has heard of Darnell Boone (no mark bum) [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

Are you trying to tell me a man with a 19% KO ratio can be considered a hard hitter or that a man with a 19 for 19 record is a worthy adversary. Ward is great but everyone knows his chin is suspect

I would say good. He did get dropped once early in his career but hasn't been dropped since. I doubt he'll ever be known as an iron chinned warrior like Froch, but he won't get hit nearly as much so he won't need to be.

Ward is similar to middleweight and above Thomas Hearns in that he is a great fighter but has a suspect chin. (That is the only way they are similar)

![]() Na, I'm only a bit amazed by these two surprising achievements in Boone's career... considering the kind of career he's had so far. I sure don't think he's got that much power : his shot against Ward was simply well placed and he recovered well. His KD against Stevenson was a classic right hand on a southpaw, with full power. Give Malignaggi enough time to put that much weight on his right hand and he could also KO somebody. There are not enough evidences to rate Ward's chin. He's so good at closing the distance that he barely gets hit. One KD against a journeyman is not a sufficient proof, in my opinion, to tell if his chin is weak. |

I think his chin is good enough. He doesn't get hit enough so it doesn't matter. I think he has a good chin but I can see why people would say it is suspect. His fight with Miranda showed me his chin is solid.

Above Average. he got knocked down by Boone very early in his career , but has faced much stronger punchers since and has not touched the canvas yet. Alot of it has to do with this great defense.
