Ward has great skills and is a fantastic fighter but his chin is questionable right now having been put on his arse by a journeyman suggests he doesn't have a great chin.

Because no-one has heard of Darnell Boone (no mark bum)

That fight was years ago early in his career and that's the only time he was badly hurt in his entire career. Wow!!! This boxing you know? You will get hurt in this sport. Ward's chin is fine he went on to win that fight. But going by your definition his chin is glass ****ing ridiculous

Very interesting...
Who were these no-name bums and that was an illegal forearm by Jones. I personally rate his powers of recovery to be great and his chin to be good. Also Calzaghe was old and drained when he fought Bhop and RJJ. I know both were older but RJJ should have retired years ago and one of Bhop's legacy making attributes is his longevity

I think it will be like Roy Jones Jr, when he gets too old to dodge the punches he'll start getting KO'd. But for now he's good enaugh to not get hit clean.

Na, I'm only a bit amazed by these two surprising achievements in Boone's career... considering the kind of career he's had so far. I sure don't think he's got that much power : his shot against Ward was simply well placed and he recovered well. His KD against Stevenson was a classic right hand on a southpaw, with full power. Give Malignaggi enough time to put that much weight on his right hand and he could also KO somebody.

There are not enough evidences to rate Ward's chin. He's so good at closing the distance that he barely gets hit. One KD against a journeyman is not a sufficient proof, in my opinion, to tell if his chin is weak.
Sorry man, but your statement was a tad bit misleading. I agree there's not enough evidence to rates Ward's chin comprehensively but I was offering up what evidence there is that's all

YDKSAB

This was old over the hill Froch and Abraham who was 1-2 in his last three fights. Ward is a fantastic fighter, but will never be the iron chinned warrior you want him to be

Another idiot who knows nothing about the sport. Ward is nothing like Jones who was arguably the greatest athlete to ever lace up a pair of boxing gloves. Jones relied on speed and reflexes not boxing fundamentals so once his reflexes slowed he was done. Ward is not a great athlete more like Hopkins who has great boxing fundamentals and is still fighting today even at an elite level into his forties. Ward is a technical fighter with some of the best footwork and ring IQ in the sport today. Guys like him have longer careers.

Ward got knocked down by a man with a 19% KO ratio and went on to win. Calzaghe won both of his fights as well.

Also doesn't need to be said but Calzaghe undisputed no.1 SMW by a long way

He's only been hurt twice in his career. And since then, he's been hit cleanly by much stronger fighters than the guys that hurt him.

I'd say it's at least serviceable.
