even if he loses his fight-after-next, hes the kind of guy who will get a shot after every win till the day he retires. just the way it is.

Considering the number of titles, the fact that HBO likes him and he has a good fan base and a knowledgeable trainer, and that he is a talented enough athlete, I think he'll keep getting titles and losing them for years. He won't be dominating. He won't be keeping titles for more than a few defenses. But he'll keep getting there.

He's been one of the better men of the sport about picking quality fights, for sure. Garcia, Peterson, Judah, McCloskey, Maidana, Malignaggi, Salita, Kotelnyk, in a row? Even the worst two are step-ups for a lot of guys his age, these days. That's no joke.

Depends who he faces. If Golden Boy find him some no mark and manage to use their infulence to get a world title on the line then probably.
If he fights anyone who can punch like Garcia or Matthyse then no chance. I wouldn't be surprised if they tried to make a rematch with Lamont Peterson again, he still has the IBF title and doesn't he have his licence back now? That would be interesting. |
