A lot of people say, Rigondeaux style is boring, no one wants to see him etc etc.
I personally find him very interesting to watch. The guy who moves and just to see him operate in the ring I find very fun to watch. I also noticed that exports like Max Kellerman, Jim Lampley, Al Bernstein and most media members always talk of how impress they are by him. Now I know most average boxing fans who only want to see blood and not skills can be driven away by his style, but I think that most people on here are fans of the sweet science, so what is your view of Rigondeaux? |

Well he can be exiting when he wants too.
Teon Kennedy fight showed that. The problem is, he's too patient to counter, when he could really push for openings and score a KO earlier. Sort of like how Roy Jones waits for the opponent to make a mistake rather than using his explosive skill and take the guy out. |

his fights against Kennedy and Maroquin were amazing. crazy talent.
Rico Ramos wasn't that great of a fight because Ramos was shook after the 1st round. |

i consider boxers that don't initiate the action/fight or act overly defensive, boring.
i believe that in a close round, the fighter that pressed for the fight should be awarded the round. |

Rigo is an aggressive counter puncher. He can counter or set the pace and force his opponent to throw and most of his counter got KO punch behind it so how could it be boring?

Maybe to casuals not me though KO percentage 72% Boring? how?I've been watching this guy for a long minute now I'm glad at least part of the boxing world has recognized him & given him his credit.Studied him among many others like floyd, whitaker, pep in terms of defense he's one of the best.People claim he lacks competition but that's far from the truth,Name the last fighter that has same quality opposition in his first 11 fights & becomes champ in only 9th fight???Name 1?........Mares & Nonito sure as hell hasn't, fighting 5 guys with losing rec & 2 debuting with a 10-1 rec Losing to a 2-1 guy.2-1! Rigo got rocked by 5'9 Marroquin who beat broner, russel jr twice but they want to crucify him for being human & getting hurt twice regardless of recovering, never hitting the canvas, & knocking his opponent 2x.....smh
.He held incredible composure knocked Marroquin for the first time in his career twice, knocked 5x the only guy who wanted title shot in kennedy.Even now he's fighting another dangerous opponent in poonsawat a guy nonito fans claimed he was ducking or should test himself against, after he accepts all of a sudden poonsawat is overrated & garbage.Cubans Lara, gamboa,Rigo just can't catch a break & get the credit they deserve instead I just see more criticism. Oh well, they just got to keep winning they'll get theirs.

He's an amazing fighter to watch, very technical but with speed, power & remarkable balance.
He doesnt have the best chin & can be rather cautious at times. A natural counter puncher if his opponent shuts up shop Rigo can be a bit reluctant to force the pace. When he does go after his opponent Rigo looks fantastic. The Casey & Kennedy fights were fantastic to watch. |
