Default Prices February Opponent

So based on this above Price is fighting a 'top' American at the Echo in february. Who could it be?

Apparently he has only lost at world level and he has fought for the world title. Hopefully it isn't Michael Grant who has been rumoured in the past.

Anyone got any ideas on this?

Just thinking who's out there, who has fights signed etc and the "top american" line the only one i could think of it Tony Thompson

Sadly for the yanks, he does count as a "top american" still and is probably ready to be farmed out for a few quid

And, Maloney says he is setting Price, who weighed in at 17st 12lb (Skelton 17st 3lb) the target of not only becoming world champion but also to getting to the top by knocking as many opponents out as possible.

"I want David to finish his career with the most knockouts in British boxing history," he said.

Good luck with that.

That's up there with his ''that's the best performance I've ever seen from a southpaw'' quote after Paul Edwards ''won'' the British title on a bullshit cut stoppage, and celebrated as if he'd won the lottery.

Not sure who this opponent might be, could be Tony Thompson.... I suppose technically Hasim Rahman has only lost at world level too.

Thompson seems about right although possibly Monte Barrett could be an option unless he has retired.

Boswell or Thompson would be decent fights at this stage for Pricey, if he beat one of them and Chisora for the British by next July that is impressive I think.

It wont be Chisora. He is moving to Matchroom.

Barrett needs the money, so if the offer was there, he'd take it.

Mismatch isn't going to stick him in with Arreola.

I probably wouldn't at this stage. As poor as Fatty is, it's a huge step up in class for Pricey.

Let's be honest, at this stage his level of opposition is pretty brutal.

Again Fury is the one with the tougher test this weekend. Given that Price is older and most likely better than him, why is he behind the curve?
