The UFC is about the sign the biggest fight in the history of the promotion with GSP and Anderson Silva. It's about as far away from going bottom up as can be.

MMA on the whole is always better when there are more healthy orgs out there putting on great fights so let's hope Bellator, ONE FC and the World Series of Fighting can manage their books better than the orgs that have failed in the past. So far Bellator looks like it could be around for the long haul. |

The idea that RoadFC and the UFC are on the same level is just ridiculous. The best fighters will always go to the UFC after fighting in these smaller shows.
The point I was making with this thread is that now there are enough grass roots gyms, fighters and interest to hold shows in most countries now. These kids of shows don't really make much cash, they are just a showcase. RoadFC might no attract the biggest stars but previously big names can be included on these smaller MMA cards and not do too badly. I see a lot more options for out of favor UFC fighters in smaller promotions like these which will help the sport develop. |

Fox wont be pushing the Ultimate Fail Championship for long by the way this year has gone. So much promise to start off with and a massive fail so far. You can tell how badly the UFC is going by how quiet Dana is. |

As soon as the UFC buys up a promotion another one takes it's place. The UFC has established itself at the primer Mma company. But the UFC didn't kill anything. Pride would still be alive if it wasn't built around the idea of a once in a lifetime fighting competition. i take my hat off to Pride. There will never be shows like that unless a billionaire makes mma his play thing. In the meantime we have got the UFC.
