Default Honest opinions on how you view British boxing?

Genuine question, and please speak honestly. How do you view the current crop of British boxers, on how do you feel the nation stands in the boxing world.

Keen to know how, especially the US fans, view British boxing as a whole. Please no trolls only decent discussion

Very generalised opinion here, but British boxers on the whole lack the ability to go to the body, or sit down on their punches! It seems like the amateur boxing style of in and out n loads of movement is hindering boxers.

Now that Aba's had been switched to 3 x 3 minute rounds, there's potential for more quality professionals joining the ranks soon!

But one has to realise Britain is a small island and achieves a hell of a lot when you think about that!

In general they lack real power and don't seem to have a killer instinct but they are well schooled. All in all I would say Brit boxers are more style than substance, this is true of other nations also though.

I think that it's a good crop, if not quite a golden one.

Not sold on Price or Fury who could face similar problems to Seth Mitchell if they ever get around to stepping it up.

Kinda sad about where Khan has ended up as he's probably the most talented fighter ever to come out of Britain (but while I haven't written him off, I don't no longer think we'll get to see him realise that talent).

Worried about Kell Brook who is making a huge step up in his next fight, imo.

Hopeful that George Groves will end up a world champion - but he needs to be more active.

Jury's still out on Cleverly - I haven't seen that much of him, tbf.

Really like Carl Froch, who is the best brit currently active -imo.

Don't care about Hatton or Haye.

Did I forget anyone?

british fighters lack the abilitys to hang with most decent champs , but i would go as far as saying i reckon coming up the ranks would that bit more tougher , than other places in world,

Pros - heart , grit , determination , ruggedness

Cons - ugly styles , not so fast , n cuts rather easy ( must be due to all the sun we get lol )

Khan never gets cut as fast as they come...
Has Froch ever been cut?

You cannot you generlise all british boxers lol.
For an island of 50million where boxing isn't that highly followed anymore I think we have dynamic bunch

Most British fighters come to fight. Not get a cut on the eye and cry like a bitch... Or headbutt the opposition.

We had the first guy to knock down iron chin Ali?

No 2 nation in HW behind Ukraine with Haye No3. Price,Chisora good contenders and good brawler Fury.
Afolabi - TOP 5 in CW.
In LHW 2 top 15 fighters, No 2/3 nation in LHW.
In SMW Froch No2 with two good contenders, No nation in SMW.
In MW two top 15 fighters and probably best nation in this division.
UK is definitely a big power in heavier divisions.

They always seem to be pretty entertaining if nothing else. I think St. George Groves will be a good one.

They also have the best fans in the sport.

Probaly... But we still have a population half of Mexico and 5 times smaller than the USA

Think we are about to hit a dry period without many boxers coming out of the UK for a while.

Britain will always be linked strongly with boxing.

What I dislike about UK boxing at times is how much hype men like Chisora, Haye, Khan, DeGale and Hatton receive by the media. Men like Froch, Groves, Burns and even Kell Brook (even though he is starting to get popularity) are hardly in the real limelight and are not household names like the others.
In general British boxing is quite selective like that
