Default Mitchell v Johanneson on Haye/Enzo undercard

Not content with giving fight fans the most explosive showdown in recent years between [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and David Haye, promoter Frank ****** has added another exciting all-British affair to the amazing 02 fight card on Saturday 8th March.

While the Maccarinelli-Haye cruiserweight unification fight headlines the show, chief-support will see [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]challenge Carl Johanneson for his British Super-Featherweight title live and exclusive on [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]">Setanta Sports 1*.

Mighty Mitchell was due to meet Johanneson at York Hall at the start of January, only for the champion to pull out with a bad back.

Commonwealth champion Mitchell looked impressive as he beat late replacement Edison Torres in three rounds.

He'll expect a harder night's work against power-punching Johanneson in a fight that promises to be just as thrilling as the main event.

The Dagenham Destroyer, 23, is unbeaten in 25 fights with 18 early victories, while 29-year-old Johanneson has an equally impressive 27-3 (19) record.

"I was gutted when Johanneson pulled out on short notice with a supposed 'back injury', but I'm over the moon that the fight is back on," said Mitchell.

"Carl ruined my Christmas and I'm going to knock him out on March 8 to give myself a belated present - the Lonsdale belt. He was only keeping it warm for so I hope he polishes it up before handing it over to me on the night.

"I've been waiting for a big fight like this for ages, and now I'm going to take my chance. Once I've won the British title I'm going to turn my attention to [Only registered and activated users can see links. ],"

"Like Haye and Maccarinelli, Carl and myself are both massive punchers, so the fans are going to be in for a treat,"

Good news - looks like we are going to get a decent undercard for a change rather than poor support for the main event usually announced with only a week to go.

Was disappointed when Johanneson had to withdraw from this bout earlier this month so pleased they have rearranged it so quickly. Credit where its due.

Should be a good fight and it is great to finally see Mitchell facing an opponent who can fight back.

I pick Mitchell to win maybe by late ko but it should be a real barn burner.

thats ****in great news!!!! makes it a really good card now.

Fair play to ****** - give him his dues, he could have put Mitchell in with another tomato can and strung the Johanneson out to another night

Really hope this happens at the second time of asking.

I'm positive that Mitchell will KO or stop Johanneson and the Arthur match would be a classic I feel.

About time Mitchell shows what he's capable of anyway.

I could not agree more.

After Johanneson chickened out of their earlier agreement, because I think that he was scared, I am going to love watching Mitchell turn his lights out.

I agree I think the 4th and 5th will be shakey territory for Johanneson.

I think he will survive and Mitchell will explode all over him around 6th and 7th and stop him then. Mitchell is a vicious fighter, in your face and he steps down on his shots with full power, meaning someone like Johanesson is due a serious beating.

I love this fight. This could be FOTY for me based on him finally taking it to the next level.

Johanneson looked all at sea when he stepped up against that Eastern European sort

Mitchell is hard to gauge given his competition, but his power really seems to be improving. I've heard murmurings Johanneson struggles to make weight as well, it all points to an early finish

I'd love to see Mitchell vs Arthur after he is inevitably schooled against Guzman

Paul Smith Jnr will also be fighting on this bill - for the vacant English Middleweight Title.

never heard of his opponent - cello renda?

i hope a win earns him a mandatory shot at the british. nearly 5 years into his pro career and we are still waiting to see him in a meaningful 12 rounder.
