For a job this tough you'd look to a guy like Gavin and know he's the best candidate outside of the current world champions to do a job of this scale. He's got the skillset, mentality and experience to deal with the occasion and not be overwhelmed by it all.
Eddie hit the nail on the head when he said tough fight but if Gavin does well and doesn't win he can impress HBO and get another chance at a payday which Gavin likes and maybe another world title fight. Broner does have his flaws, lets hope Gary and Gavin can put together a plan that shocks the world. |

Let's be real; this is a ok test for Broner at best. If Rees was Americain there would be a lot of slating towards Broner.
Broner makes it look easy. Still I don't blame Broner for staying active, there's nothing wrong with young boxer taking these kind of fights. |

Can see why Broner's team chose him, they'll see him as undersized but can push it as a former world champion (at a higher weight).
He's an underdog but entirely possible that Team Broner have under estimated him. |

Broner kind of dodged Abril & picked Rees instead, but in his fairness he's been calling out burns now for nearly a year
Broner-Rees is a good good fight, a good coup for Hearn, I wonder who Burns'll fight next?? |

Yep your right nothing wrong with a young champion taking these kind of fights and TBH even a 30 year old world champion It's a viable test when options elsewhere aren't a coming. Gavin's a former world champion and unbeaten at 135lbs and was European Champion. He's done a lot more then people remember and would be a good fight for Burns or Vasquez as well.
He's earned his right to challenge for a world title TBH (more then many challengers nowadays). A lot more then guys like Gesta, Quintero, Walsh and others so i hope we all get behind him and he does us proud. He will give it his all.. |

All credit to Rees for taking this, what a lion. Hope the money really is good and that he can put up a good show over there. Come on Gavin, I'm already looking forward to this.

Rees is bona fide top ten. So that in itself is a decent fight for Broner and Rees. |

Im not sure Rees moves his feet enough to challenge Broner
I think this is a fight to make Broner look good in GBP's mind. Tough man that will take Broners flashy punches. Its a tough fight to win in general and its a tough fight to stylistically win on points. Maybe Rees can set a good pace with proper consideration to head movement and surprise some people. |

When they announced Abril I was skeptical...That didn't happen
Should this fight come around, then yes, believe it or not, Gavin Rees can win, but I doubt this happens either, Broner has had 4 different fights announced in the last week |

Assuming it will happen, I said the Abril fight wouldn't happen, and they said I was a bitter Broner hater...(Dare I say Broner ducked Abril?!...No, I dare not, I just think Broners lucky that fight never happened) Let's just wait and see before we speculate, and btw, Rees beating Broner won't be an upset to me, let's just say that |
