Good job, kid!
You were in with the better athlete, it looks like, but you kept the pressure on and you fought him. When you've improved your mechanics and your defense, you'll be able to beat guys like that. You put in a really good effort for your first night. You should be pleased. |

You two were fighting in straight lines and boxing is a game of circles. Also, this guy you were fighting was one-handed, everything was with the left hand.
So you can fight him one of two ways. You can circle to your left, stepping around his lead foot, use you height and reach advantage to jab him over his shoulder and try to get him to turn into a right hand. This will take his left hand away from him. Or you can move into his left hand, get him to throw it, which he seems willing enough to do. Draw the his left and tear him up with left hook counters; you seemed in spots to be doing something like this, but with your left jab. You really need to develope a good, short left hook to make this work. Though you can also get under his left and really work the right uppercut, but even then you'd need to follow it with a hook. |

You seemed a bit confused by his southpaw stance. He was shooting off straight lefts down the middle right from the get-go, he looked a bit more experienced too. You'll learn from this loss, but you were unlucky to fight a 'Paw in your amateur debut. That sucks but it's a learning experience.

That is a tiny ring, not enough room to fight the way I think you wanted to fight, Your a tall lanky guy so I take it you wanted to stay behind the jab?

Was confused abit, i kept thinking why isnt my jab connecting? Oh yeah hes a southpaw haha
And i do like comming from behind the jab etc but the ring was plenty big enough. Ill have more exsperience against southpaws next time, but yeah first fight agaisnt a southpaw is weird init |

You did very well mate.
You seemed to be throwing a lot of punches from way too far away - make sure you are at the right range before throwing. Don't commit unless you are pretty sure you can land. |
