Default JOE CHOYNSKI - Where is he on your pound for pound list?

Where should he be ranked and what are your overall thoughts on his career? personally, i think he is very underrated. the only footage of him is sparring with jeffries here at the 2:20 mark.

You can make a good argument that he beats Hart.
As for H2H he was a tad chinny IMO but a L/H he deserves some serious consideration. He matched McCoy pretty well, troubled Fitz a bit and Maher too. Add in the Jeffries, Corbett and Johnson efforts and you have a serious debate.

He beat or drew with three.

Would you honestly want to bet your house, against him beating any sub 200lb champion with durability issues?

That leaves a slim space for Joe Walcott.

Klondike has the first 3 spots. Barbados Joe goes 17th, right after Hugo Corro.

j,it is not well known that Choynski slipped on an icy street just before his fight with Joe Walcott, fracturing ribs on his side. Choynski went through with the fight and was stopped by body punching from Walcott...If true,[and Choynski was an honorable guy ] this explains his ko by the great
welterweight Joe Walcott !

I am going to play devils advocate on this one, and suggest that Marvin Hart was in or close to his prime, when a past prime Joe Choynski held him to a draw.

I lean towards Choynskiís claim being true, but even so Walcott just demolished him. I would also note that Walcott offered him a rematch.

It terms of punching power he seriously might have claim to be number 1, similiar to Shavers, everyone named him the hardest puncher they had faced despite the fact he's basically a super middle.
