Looks like he,s been killed , some say that he is braindead . very sad indeed . looking back which fight was his best ? i always liked the Rosario fight. maybe not his best but he stayed on his feet and won the decision .

Stylistically it was like taking candy from a baby, but he really did a number on Jose Luis Ramirez.
Schooled Howard Davis pretty badly too when both were past their best. |

I think Camacho was well-matched in both 130 and 135-pound titles. The only better stylistic matchup for a title opponent than Ramirez was Limon. The slowest possible world class fighter who was always there to be hit against a young Camacho........ouch. That outcome was never in question. He might as well have fought a heavy bag for the title.

Limon was possibly the best, he looked liked the next 'Boxing Superstar'. My favourite though had to be the Leonard destruction...
And as much as I think he 'dogged' the Rosario fight, he more than made up for that in his first 'proper' defeat against Chavez, when he took a frightful licking and yet stayed the distance with a Chavez who could still go some. |

He just destroyed Limon. Camacho was such an exciting..and great performer in those days before Rosario. The number he did on Ramirez was just too much. The thing is with him...and I'm not just saying this after this terrible thing happened to him...is that he really proved he had major-sized BALLS in hanging in there and taking his beating like a man from Chavez. He could have been really much more, but he was something special anyway...rest in peace Macho Man!!

He was so good against Limon it was almost frightenng. I remember at one point Limon threw a jab, and Camacho blasted him with an insane three punch combo and was half way across the ring before Limon had even finished the jab.
Camacho found some of his old form when he beat Tony Baltazar, and that was once Camacho was totally jaded and drugged up. Camacho was a total assassain when he wanted to be. |
