Default Do boxers get black eyes from sparring (Hatton)

I noticed in every tv interview Hatton did before the fight, he had bruising or black eyes from sparring.

Surely that was a bad sign to start with?

well some guys get hit with good shots, if you're wearing a open faced headgear you have a higher chance of getting one

It happens that was not really and indicator that Hatton will have a bad night. Think I saw Bute with a black eye before the Glen Johnson fight, he won a clear and impressive UD.

Heard him say he was knocked down by a lightweight in sparring 12 days before the Pacquiao fight. Now that's the kind of shit you'd need to worry about.

Dumb question. Does getting punched in the face leave marks? No not at all.

yeah depends on the headgear they wear during sparring. Most pros wear the winning headgear with the bar across the nose during sparring and this would eliminate any black eyes or broken noses. I remember that De la hoya got a shiner from Ivan Calderon (supposedly) during their sessions before the pac fight.
