1 wrong doesn't make another wrong right. Both were being scolded by the ref, just didn't take out any points.

If it was me I'd headbutt and elbow the living shit out of him. He came close and pinning his head into Berto's chest, then start leaning on him and pushing him into the ropes where he lets his hands go with not significant power. The real damage was done in the break-ups mostly made by themselves because the referee was absent. So if I was in the situation Berto was in I would push, use the elbow and even headbutt him couple of times discreetly enough not to be take points of right away. That so he would not wish to do that on me again and again, and that for the stupid referee to see how dirty this fight has become because of his inactivity.

As long as 1 hand is free, there's no reason to break it up. It is not illegal to let fighters do inside fighting as long as punches are being thrown. It is the referee's authority to either allow it or not.

It's hard to say. There was plenty of holding by both throughout the fight. Early, it seems Berto was holding more. Late, it seemed it was Guerrero doing the lion's share.

I'm not so sure the KD where Guerrero's hand was behind Berto's head should have counted. That ref was not in control of this fight at all. It was a professional embarrassment for him.

I don't believe holding an opponent head with one hand for positioning and hitting him until he goes down is legal or pushing him around with your head or shoulder into the ropes is legal either tough. Maybe he could've change the fight a bit if the referee start taking points from of both of them.

Berto didnt know what the hell he was doing on the inside. All he had was that uppercut going for him but other than that, he fouht Guerreros fight, allowed himself to he mauled around the ring and was hurt sveral times from some decent shots a lot of other fighters wouldve taken just fine. Plus i never like the advice his corner gives him, they just never really seem to help. Berto dug deep tho i loved how he fought back like a champ.

Guerrero forced an inside fight and Berto was holding to try and prevent it, Robert whooped his ass for it.

Berto was already badly hurt and on his way down and hanging on when Guerrero did that. That shit happens in boxing all the time when you have ur man hurt and hes trying to grab on to you on his way down. That was a real fight and i loved every minute of it, so did everyoje who was there it seemed. I cant believe all the bitching n moaning about dirty fighting. This forum is fuckin weak these days

It was a good fight, Guerrero did impressively, but I did find if a bit frustrating because i wanted to see a boxing match and I was getting a street fight mixed with a dude doing stamina training on his heavy bag, you know... heads down keep punching for 3 minutes break, then start again.

You also know Berto's to KD's that bring him in that position of being "badly hurt and on his way down" were illegal.

It was six and two-threes. They both did their share of holding for different reasons.

I did think that the ref was a bit tough for warning Berto about hitting to the back of the head.

Overall he did an ok job on a very tough night. All the crying about holding is bs.

Yes, you're right. But that quote doesn't apply here.

You'e in a fight. In the heat of battle. Your opponent is aiming to take your head off. Are you going to sit there and take whats coming at you even though it's dirty. It's within plain view of the ref. Who decides not to take action. Hit him back and Berto did the right thing as would anyone else.
