"I ask for prayers for the health of my friend macho Camacho. In the end we were great friends.
What happened to Camacho is sad, but the truth is we were great friends. We were great rivals between PR and MEX. I think he was the closest/best friend I had amongst all the fighters that I’ve fought against.
He was one of the best in history. He revolutionized boxing. He was charismatic and controversial. He was a talker, but he was very good, very fast and just one of the very best. He was an extroverted person, a big talker and he got into trouble because of the way he was. The only thing I can say is that we were great friend. After our fight there were mutual gestures of kindness and appreciation towards one another. He was a great person."

That's one of the true beauty's of the sport ! I mean look at Gatti and Ward they went life and death which each other and become the closest of friends ..It's great o hear how much Chavez Sr respected Comacho.

Chavez Sr. is'nt just saying that because Camacho is on his death bed, he actually has referred to Camacho in the past as his friend.

It is a brotherhood with fighters. Very few hold lifetime grudges against a former rival and most rivals end up becoming the best of friends.

Chavez always said he was a good friend of him, just watch Chavez documantary on youtube. He said if he dont have the stamina to press him for 12 round things going to be complicated cause he's going to circling and counter punching.

you just summed up what makes this the most beautiful sport in the world. if only more people can understand this and realize it's an art form and not some barabaric event where people bash each others head in. it's really just about two men testing their skills and wills each other and you can't help but to love and respect the other man after testing each other and going through hell together.

Great statement and great respect. What I always say about boxers. They all are in a unique club and they all respect each other in a way which other sports lack.
