For the fanbase yeah, his fights were huge events.

People saying he shouldn't go in because of his record should look at Sylvester Stallone's record a bit more closely.

I thought Ricky Hatton brought great entertainment to boxing,in and out of the ring.He was honest and had the courage to take the big fights and only failed twice at the truly highest level.His comeback loss is irrelevant.He deserves respect imo.

It don't take much to get in the HOF. Win a belt or 2 and be popular. Thats it basically. Hatton was never great. But No doubt he'll go into the HOF. I don't mind that.

Stallone has been in plenty of A grade films you cretin. Rambo series and rocky series (up to 4) are a grade films

Stallone went in as a contributor, a non-participant who add to the sport. I challenge you to find another non-participant who has brought as much attention to boxing.

The NFL inducted the founders of NFL Films for a similar reason. The MLB has a host of broadcasters.

There's more than one way to contribute to a sport.

To me, Ricky falls into the Arturo Gatti category: tremendous fan following without extraordinary skill or resume. Boxing is built on the popularity of such fighters and those who take the "Fame" part seriously will include them.

Once Joe Cal gets in the entire thing will be a joke anyway, though.
