He participated in the 2004 Summer Olympics. There he was stopped in the first round of the Super heavyweight (+91 kg) division by Russia's eventual winner Alexander Povetkin. Rozhnov won a bronze medal in the same division six months earlier, at the 2004 European Amateur Boxing Championships in Pula, Croatia. Very interesting, he got Bulgarian citizenship... and participated for our country in Euro 2004 and at Olympics same year. The last think i heard of him was that he works in Ukraine as some sort of bouncer or a bodyguard. Very capable fighter with good punching power, lost from Povetkin in the Olympicsл
Do you now who will train him? Seems Vladimir Hrynov is his manager. I must check around to my Russian friends |

Man, he's going to debut agaisnt a former world title challenger (albeit a poor one).
Hope he gets good management. The last thing we need is yet another talented European heavu stuck in limbo due to poor managment. |

What the **** took him so long to turn pro, other than he probably had the wrong passport and no offers from rich promoters. He fought hard against Povetkin in that Olympic quarterfinal bout, even giving Sasha an 8 count(although underserved IMO).
The Russian team was pretty competitive so the Bulgarians scooped him up, not at all unusual. I cannot help wonder if this was the case with current World Champion Mezhidov, fighting for Aze! |

Now that's a hard debut. I remember Rozhnov from the amateurs. He was a solid guy. More of a technician type than a speed merchant. He waited too long to turn professional. I can't see him becoming a top 30 professional/

![]() Beck's really being sold out. At least Sam Peter told these guys to kiss his ass and give him more than a week to prepare.

He looked very good. Dominated Beck. Had it 40-36 Rozhnov. He had Beck hurt once or twice. If it was 6-8rds he might have stopped him.
Anyways he's a kid to look out for. |

Four rounds completed, and Hall is getting repeatedly tagged by Drozd to the head and to the body.
I can't imagine this one going the distance. |

Drozd is a good fighter, I always liked the guy. He should get the shot against Lebedev next.

Strong performance by Rozhnov. Beck was close to go down few times. The Russian was very aggressive – his typical stile.
I spoke on the phone with Sergey today. He said that after Athens Games was very frustrated and went into depression. Doesn’t want to train and to fight anymore. The Russian went to university and work at the same time. He was called by Hrunov to help in sparings Levedev and Povetkin. And he went back to the gym. The future? He said that now will get some rest and will wait for Hrunov to appoint his next match. Rozhnov don’t have long plans for his career. Sergey was satisfied by the fight with Beck and said that he feels the years outside the ropes. |
