Very good point, fighters back then had very rarely seen much if any footage of their opponents. Fighters often had to turn to plan b, c and d when things weren't working out. Versatility is the word for that. Lionel was a great fighter at bantam for what was a relatively short peak. You've only got to look at the old footage, he oozed class. Anyone who knows their boxing know he wasn't the same fighter above bantam. He was still a young growing lad and doing the weight I think damaged him, that and his carefree lifestyle after the fame came. Pass peak performances against Numata and Guts Ishimatsu were a bonus.
