Default So what are the chances Hatton fights again?

I'm not convinced the latest retirement is permanent. I could see him fighting at 40. (In which case it will literally look like a 60 year old man is in the ring.)

Highly likely he said himself he cant replace the "high/buzz" he gets from boxing and having 1000's chant your name.

The only fight I can see him comin back for is a Malignaggi rematch because he's already beat him once
Then if he loses he should really retire

If I was him I'd take the Malignaggi fight, doubt he'd get stopped and if he somehow won he could retire as a world champion
He really has nothin to lose by fightin Malignaggi

Was I watching a different fight? Hatton was dreadful. He knows it to.

50-50

He knows he was bad, but even people on this site who want him to retire for good were saying "He picked the wrong opponent", "He should have fought an easier fighter to start out", "The guy was a tall rangey welterweight, bad style for a rusty Hatton.", "He should have done a couple of 8-rounders.", "Too ambitious after such a long lay-off" etc. etc.

Naturally those whispers will have been said around Hatton, and are likely to go around his own head too.
And let's not forget he came back largely for personal pride.

He could well comeback in another year or two. Maybe before.

mallinaggi couldn't justify that....and won't.

what hatton could do, if there is an easier opponent (as opposed to an opponent who is going to end up at a higher level)...is aim for a british title....he may not see it as worthwhile but it is a very prestigious title, and put it this way...he'd have beaten witter for it.
depending on if gavin is still there or has moved on...it may be the realistic aim for hatton...it would be an easy sell and he could go out on a high...the right opponent and he wins it.
and..even at 34...and even though he was fooked at the end of this last fight...i would actually guess that he'd be a touch better next time out with continued training and more sparring.....although definetly not world class level.

The only time you'll see Ricky Hatton back in the ring is with a spray bottle in hand and a lump of vas on the back of his hand. He learnt the cold hard fact Saturday night that it's over. He's too proud a man to put himself up for more ridicule which he undeservingly gets, especially on here. It won't happen but malignaggi would bust Hatton up right now. The Hatton that fought Saturday would of struggled to land a glove on him.
I just wish he'd left it alone after the pac fight but he had to come back for himself. Now he should be left alone to get on with his life.

Malignaggi would out box Hatton and leave his face looking like a stabbed potato at this point.

yes....he should be left alone to get on with his life.

but...hatton is the very type who may very well still want to end on a win, especially after all the effort its taken to get this far this time.
on the other hand...not forgetting the primary reason he made this comeback....he had his other reasons he spoke of too...but the main primary reason was because hatton promotions was going tits up and he had to do something drastic....saturdays card was a greaat card of boxing, and such a massive crowd, so will he think it's mission fulfilled in that respect......i dunno.

Thats a post that id agree with.

I wasnt too sure about his comeback. I had the same doubt a lot of posters had on here. Years of yo yo dieting. Then the drugs incidents and to be honest I just thought hed done the comeback too quick coupled with a tough comeback opponent was always going to be a big ask.

Hes now down at the weight which is where he needs to stay if he is thinking about 1 last fight and just in general it will be a lot healthier for him if he doesnt pile that weight back on.
Make a 9month plan and ease his self back into the best shape possible.
Ye id be up for him fighting Paulie.

If the demons inside niggled away at him after the Pacman loss then what is this latest loss going to do ?

I reckon he will be back in the ring within 6 months.
