No one can question dudes heart, controversy aside. Thoughts on this? Think they will take a toll in any upcoming bouts? I don't see him beating any top fighters. I just see him being competitive but getting beat up in all of them.

I don't think the three wars will have taken much, since he wasn't actually stopped in any of them, but by that same token, he's not going to beat any top fighters as things stand now. His flaws as a fighter are just too great, and he has shown no inclination to improve his craft at all to fix some of them. He clinches a lot more than he should, and does so in an ineffective manner that still allows his opponent to hit him. He tries to do the shoulder roll defense when he's not capable of it. He's always headhunting, never does body work. Doesn't put punches together much, thinking that his flashy single-shots will get the job done, and against lesser opposition they had. Not against Collazo, Ortiz, or Guerrero though, which tells the story there.

Overall Berto is a mediocre fighter, on one hand he is blessed with great athletic talent but he is also cursed by one of shittiest trainers ever. Its sad that a guy that athletic who worked very hard and has vast amateur experience can't do anything.
Tony Morgan might be a nice guy and all but he obviously is way out of his league here. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] |

His confidence must be in all time low levels after getting thrashed by a 135lb underdog, he should fight some stiff before taking any serious matches again.

BTW Had Zaveck Face held up, Berto would've been in another war and possibly stopped. |
