I've always been a fan of Rigo, and have seen a few Mares fights, and Donaire seems to get the most limelight at that weight class. You know very few fighters put asses in the seats, so I don't want to hear the Rigo has no fans, but Mares can put a crowd in California. Forget the fans, ticket sales, and all that....who would you rather see in the ring and why.

not even a question.....Donaire vs. Mares is the fight to make at 122
both guys have great resumes and are #1 and #2 in the division (now that Nishioka lost and retired) its these fickle fans that hype up guys like Rigo because fans arent the ones building up resumes and doing the work....we have the luxury to hype up the flavor of the month |

Donaire vs Mares just to see GBP weep.
Seriously, if Donaire/Mares could be made it would mean that TR and GBP can do business after all. It would bode well for other fights. But we know it ain't gonna happen. IMHO NO ONE at Donaire's weight beats him. Mares looked pretty sloppy and Donaire would turn him into a defense first fighter and it would be a snooze fest. |

Donaire-Mares
They parted 118lbs with unsettled business which has carried over to 122lbs, so the winner would effectively be recognized as the best bw and sbw, in my eyes. Not to mention that their styles would make for a much more entertaining scrap. |

Donaire Mares easily. Rigo has looked like shit recently, nearly got himself knocked out and hurt multiple times. Mares is a proven champion, beating all the best fighters out there. Donaire Mares is a must see event. Definitely a blow below the belt to boxing fans if it doesnt happen.
