Thompsons last fight was for a World title earlier this year, which was a joke of a defence for Wlad, so despite Price's age, its a good fight for him at this stage of his career, you have to remember he has only had 15 pro bouts and slowly stepping up and keeping active. Four fights this year, two of which were former world title challengers. I appreciate both wash up 40 + and never anything special to begin with but think he is heading in the right direction.

Rumour is that after Thompson, he is looking at Chisora in July with a view of a World title shot at the end of the year.

No Tyson is gonna fight Vitali Klitschko next the World Champion. He is not ducking Price! Price is not even close to being on the same level as Fury! Thompson is decent opponent what bothers me:
a) Tony looked mentally broken in the post fight conference, after two shots at a brother he is very ulikely to get a shot at Vitali which should demotivate him really bad
b) Why is Price fighting southpaws? None of the recognized top dogs is a southpaw

Did you see him against Wlad? He just tried to coast through the fight without getting hit. He wasn't there to win or even make an atempt. The fight is a waste of time and does absolutely nothing for Price apart from putting another win on his record.

ok, no point in even further going into why thompson sucks , you clearly beat me up on the point that "mandatory contender" tony thompson gets credit for winning the first round against wlad and possiblly the 3rd. in fact, may be even better than ever at 42 years old.

If Thompson was in top shape, why would Price be calling him out? Thompson would appear a big step up but the big intangible is if the Tiger's heart is in it.
