not if he has to go up to 154.
but I definitely think JMM has physically adjusted since the first Mayweather fight. He seems to be bigger, stronger, and leaner than he used to be and hasn't shown more signs of father time catching up since then. |

Maybe, but it could go 2 ways.
Marquez could be more competitive in a replay of the first bout, Mayweather making Marquez lead. Or, given the fact that Mayweather is sitting down on his punches more/not using his legs as a defense as much, we could see Mayweather teeing off with hurtful shots for 12 rounds. Which in turn may allow Marquez more opportunities, but like people have said, Mayweathers style is perfect for Marquez. |

Mayweather sitting down on his shots rather than using his strength to make sure Marquez is kept at bay would only be in JMM's favour.

Have to be with the consensus on this one. A stationary counter-fighter handles rush in fighters well. Marquez would have given trouble to Duran as Dejesus did, blunting his heel-toe stepping pattern. He also would have given nightmares to Alexis Arguello every time the "explosive thin man" would lead off with those heavy bombs.
Manny is planning to dive in faster and harder than before? It's a rough judgement that helped the pacman eek by last time, but his speed in attack is going to be less relevant than where he places his feet to reset after throwing a combo. When Manny comes up for air, Juan often has something waiting for him; hard shots. Then Manny has to line up another attack, which takes times. Rinse, repeat, and you have the previous 3 fights. |

He couldnt do worse
well i assume the game plan would be fixed, Nacho would watch the tapes and find some weakness that they could some how exploit this time Floyd is getting older and slower and more willing to stand and trade as in the Cotto and Ortiz fights even vs Mosley he didnt use his legs much JMM may get a better chance to land on Floyd, i dont think he wins rounds but maybe the rounds get closer |

JMM has to plant to fire, while guys Like Broner and Mayweather move whenever the guy plants. A mobile counterpuncher usually soundly and boringly defeats a stationary one. Any such match-up is going to resemble Jones-Toney.

He's was fleshy when he fought Floyd with the jump in weight, he might do a bit better now he has filled up to the weight but still loses.

I think he would do better, hard to do any worse than in the first fight when he lost every round. I think he could possibly win 2 rounds against PBF now.

I actually remember someone (may have actually been you ) saying Mayweather didn't open up his offense as he was worried he was going to get caught by Marquez. Which isn't true at all, really.

Mayweather is alot better than Marquez and so is Pacman. Pacman and Marquez are matched up well physically and they punch with the similar arm reach and everything else, so if Marquez punches he lands. He has a chin which is solid so he makes it a good fight. If Roach has a plan to win this fight easily, it would be for Pacman to box and use his jab against Marquez. Win the early rounds and then slowly take over the fight.

Maybe a little due to an improvement in his conditioning, but Mayweather is just a very bad style match up for him. They're both counterpunchers, but Mayweather is faster, younger, bigger, has longer reach and far better defence.
