Wow.

This shit is amazing.

So despite the fact that Cotto worked with his trainer for the third time and he got to fully understand his strengths and weaknesses, and trained at altitude in big bear, like so many other greats do and have done in the past, he had the worst training camp of his career.

Additionally, he was too small for 154 for this one fight and is a natural 147 lb fighter unless he fights against Pacquaio.

He also became shot, then unshot and then shot again.

Some fighters get old over night and many greats have turned in one last strong performance before that happens. Look at Mosely pulling out one last strong performance against Margarito before turning into a shell of himself.

As a huge Cotto fan, it looks like he pulled out his last strong performance in May and is done now.

Bottomline: Trout simply too big for Cotto. Cotto will be back and will surprise us yet again. Is he still the same guy from a few years back? NO... But he can still whoop another ass. It's not like he got ktfo... He had a bad night and trout won. The end.

Cotto is completely convinced he belongs to 154lbs. But I have been saying he doesn't even before his fight against Yuri Foreman. Didn't impressed me against Yuri. Good win against Mayorga. But MAyorga was done. Tito and Oscar fought him at his peak and knock him out easier and faster than Cotto did. Margarito was also coming up in weight. And everyone knew that eye wasn't going to last the fight. He did in fact look pretty good against Floyd. Still, he lost. And Floyd isn't even a real 154 pounder either.
Trout, who is 5 years younger than Cotto, had to strip naked to make weight. I can tell you right now. In less than 2 years Trout will be fightin at 160lbs.

Even Cotto might think I am wrong. But he hasn't done nothing to prove he is a real 154 pounder. Just like when Tito and Oscar tried to fight against Hopkins. Even thought Bernard was older than both. But they didn't belong in a ring with such a big man. It's just facts of life

the 154 fighters are to big for cotto imo he looked good against floyed cuz he is a 147 pounder but if cotto cant make 147 he could always drag fighters from 147 up to 154 to face him cuz he is still a big name am sure someone like berto would jump at the opportunity or even if the ghost doesnt get the may fight wich i hope he doesnt he could fight cotto at that weight.

Happens to all fighters. They always find out on the night that they can't do it anymore.

I believe Trout was a horrible matchup also, which played a major part in Cotto getting his ass handed to him from every angle imaginable.

Let's remember also that Cotto stipulated Margarito fight at 150lb - eventually that fight was a 153 catchweight...funny how a 154 title holder insisted on a 150 weight to defend his belt. Not exactly a sign of someone happy at 154 - and funny how he wouldn't fight Pacquiao at 150 but happy to fight MArgarito - double standards?

Margarito was also on the way to whooping Cotto before the eye caused the fight to be stopped, there's no doubt Cotto was beginning to struggle there...

true trout was too big for cotto but that does not necessarily mean cotto doesn't belong at 154. he's still a huge dude who's not supposed to be drained by manny below 154. if anything, money's earlier work and devastation of whatever cotto redeemed for himself only made the trout win look impressive. like when hatton got tenderized by money.. the ko by pac then seemed to look impressive. people forget that money fucks them up first. others scavenge on the remains.
