This guy's impressing me, Just watched the fight and Enzo is doing what he should of been doing ages ago. Gary's cornerwork was technical, calm and considered.
His other work has been also impressive, When we talk of top trainers this guy's up there now in the domestic names and before to long could well be mentioned even higher. Just a general observation, what's your thoughts on him as a trainer?. |

I thought he was superb, the microphone picked up the entire between round talk, it was class. I was mesmerized to be honest, best bit of corner work I've seen for ages.

He always seems a bit one paced and no "plan B" to me but his record was very good at the level he fought at so he couldn't have been doing that much wrong. (Very) fringe world class rather than genuine world class for me though.

Thanks Toffee Jack
. Yeah BB he was a good fighter, good power. The Pavlik fight came to late in his career and he was already out of love with the sport not that he was genuine world class anyways but he was a banger who could of caused fighters problems to a point. Shame his career stalled, IIRC it was down to his pillows causing him problems and he didn't know and it hindered him till he found out and had to put a plastic sheet over them as the pillows affected his breathing.. |

Exactly very class, assured and also you knew they had a plan. Enzo actually wasn't jabbing like a puppet and leaving chin in air. Was quite solid and didn't seem to trouble. Sadly IJL didn't agree.. |

He always used to look out of ideas and tire if the power didn't work. As you say Mand, maybe that was a symptom of the breathing problems caused by the pillows (I'd forgotten about that TBH)

Although he didn't cover himself in any glory against Pavlik before hand he said ''I don't see Pavlik being a long reigning champion. He doesn't look the type of fighter who will make many defences''.
I think he knew he was going to lose, it was his payday that came years to late for him but also shows he reads the game well. I'm pretty sure he wasn't into boxing at this time, got into buying property's at that point so it was a shock to see him in corner but you can see he's very much into his work now. |

I think i remember hearing him say that he invested his money from boxing well, buying property etc.
He earnt quite a bit with those few WBU title fights i believe and put that into property, IIRC he said he earnt far more fighting for that belt than he ever would have for the Lonsdale or a euro belt. |

He was around in a division domestically where they could of had there own super six style comp. So many good solid domestic/fringe world level operators and how many fought?. About 2-3 fights max .
