Boxing is about hitting and not getting hit, so why do boxers say stuff like this post fight?

Boxer: "If you jump in the shower, you're going to get wet...same with boxing"

Interviewer: "You seemed to get hit a lot during the fight. Did you expect that?

Boxer: "Well getting hit is part of the game"

Etc. Why say stuff like this if boxing is about hitting and not getting hit?

Because getting hit is unavoidable, even though its the ultimate goal. Its literally a fact of boxing that you will get hit during a fight

So, why do they instill this into young fighters? They may as well say "Ignore the motto of "hit and not get hit" as you will definitely get hit many times!"

It just seems stupid to say "hit and not get hit" when it's ultimately impossible to avoid.

You're taking that phrase too literally. It just means, over the course of the bout, a combination of good offense and defense will decide the winner.

it just means boxing about hitting without getting hit "ideally" realistically it doesn't matter if your Whitaker, Pep, or Mayweather your gonna get hit.

Name a fight that went past 1 round where one of the fighters didn't get hit. Take your time.

Even the greatest defensive fighters in history got hit in EVERY match they fought in unless they blew the guy out in 30 seconds.
